I doubt it's any more than what people have just said though I wish there was.

The new "game mode" will probably be a while still since they haven't starting their usual several months of "teasers" like they did with ships and AAT.

They have to be working on something obviously but the SW celebration and May 4th stuff so far hasn't even been good enough to call it underwhelming.

Technically a new game mode could be a raid , could involve ships , could involve GvG, so there is no ruling out or in anything yet, until we see what it is going to be

I believe they specifically said that a new game "mode" wouldn't just be another raid or more of somehing we already have. It would be a whole other part of the cantina. I do think more raids (that include ships) are in the future, but this wont be it.

Whatever the new game mode is seems to involve ship energy. You can see it sometimes as you enter a regular energy node. If you click on it in time it says: "You have reached your daily limit of ship energy purchases"... So ship nodes probably.

Ships energy has been in the game files before ships, along with that message
