It would be cool but I don't think so I've checked the mechanics in swgoh and it appears that Burning act as 3 DoTs.

They call it a dot and dots should not expire under vader

They're describing the mechanic. Partaking of the same mechanic doesn't make it the same thing.

It won't apply 3 DoT and ED. For sure it's a new icon that will have no synergy with Vader's DoT.

I know it's a new icon and I don't really care about the Vader synergy. Bit 3 DoTs do more damage than 1

Sounds like balance. R2 has plenty of things going for him altogether, so if categorizing one of his debuffs in a different way (that prevents other characters from empowering it further) is what's required to keep R2 from being severely OP... I don't see what the problem is.
