Thrawn next?

So the June character has been described as another "fan favorite". With the 4/3/17 update, they teased the Phoenix Squadron event and then said "An Imperial threat rises..." In the Rebels TV show, Thrawn was the main antagonist this season and gave Hera, Kanan and company a lot of trouble. Today's update talking about what's ahead references "An ambitious, ruthless proponent of military power". Thrawn has to be the June character, right? Seems to be all signs pointing that way.

it is Tarkin if you google the "an ambitious, ruthless ...."
  • It's literally a direct quote on Tarkin's bio on starwars.com. Tarkins getting a zeta and maybe some damage increases. Hopefully tarkins new leadership will be a cleanser. Like each time an empire ally inflicts a debuff, dispel all debuff on that ally.

It's possible that Thrawn will be the new character the devs were referring to as the second "fan-favorite" next month - though some will argue with you over whether he should qualify for that moniker.

But the other "signs" you're pointing to are off. The "Imperial threat rises" line was about Gar Saxon, who was revealed and released shortly thereafter, and as others have noted the "proponent of military power" line is a blatant Tarkin reference, signalling that he'll finally receive a re-work. So don't let those get your hopes up.

    I hope so!!
  • Thrawn makes total sense given that wording, anyone who's familiar with his character should agree

Given that Thrawn was known throughout the galaxy for his Military prowess and leading ability that line also completely applies to him, even if you could apply it to Tarkin as well

Its literally quoting tarkin's bio on the official star wars website. Its not thrawn

And as popular as thrawn is, he isn't the second "fan favorite". If CG is "confident in a character being a fan fav", then it will definitely be someone from the movies, and probably the OT as well. Im betting on luke.

Obviously... we all know he's getting a rework... i was referring to the statement that said it couldn't apply to Thrawn

It can't apply to Thrawn because they can only be talking about one character. It's been confirmed to be Tarkin. You could say that Thrawn was known for military prowess, but you can't say EA/CG's statement applies to him.

I would actually bet money that it isn't Luke simply because releasing him in time with "the Last Jedi" makes way too much marketing sense. I'm betting C3P0 because they just released R2 and the two go together.
