Have never heard of this. He's definitely strong enough in the force to be capable of Force Vision, but that leaves a pothole as Mace didn't deny Kenobi's claim of him being the chosen one in Epsiode 3 unless his vision came right before Order 66.
He quite clearly says that he senses a plot to destroy the jedi - which was order 66. Nothing to do with Luke as Luke plans to end the jedi - not destroy them.
However, how Mace can even sense that with the darkside apparently clouding their visions is still a mystery and a bit of plot hole if you ask me. But although he could sense something, his ability to use the force was diminished in that he had no idea what it was or how the jedi was plotted to be destroyed - he just knew something was up.
