I'm going with Mace for my 5th, but I already have JC maxed... There really isn't a 5th way to get shards fast(esh) so you could try doing the JC hard missions and switching cantina to Mace. Whatever you end up doing good luck!

I'm not sure it will matter for the 5* unlock. I imagine the 7* stage will be tough so you could be good with Mace. Personally I am going to use Jedi guardian as my fith (mace, lumi, jc and ogj) just because I have them to at least 5* but I will most likely level up my anakin before the second event to be better for the 6th and 7th stage.

I'd try to go for Mace, he's got a nice revamp on this update, and you can farm him early in Cantina while you farm tokens for QGJ in your case, and you have two hard nodes as well.
