Nihilus DoTs on Rancor

I'm not sure if this is WAI or not but I've noticed in my rancor runs using zader with nihilus that he doesn't actually place the DoTs on the rancor in P2 and P3. P1 he'll place it on the pigs and P4 he'll apply them to the rancor but not 2 or 3. Is it because of the wall panel?
It isn't really preventing me from soloing, just a minor nuisance that I want to know about.
