Question on Cody's 212th attack

When I use this attack, Cody attacks and all other clones and 1 other ally assist. My question is this - is the attack that cody uses in this attack his basic? I am trying to determine whether or not to omega his basic. If the 212 uses his basic attack to deal the damage, I will use the omega for the extra 15% damage. But if not, since I never actually use his basic (always either 212 or his AoE), I won't waste the omega mats. Help please. Thanks!

Yeah it is as you can notice his Protection recovers. I am not sure why this attack uses his basic though.
