That is a helpful post. If I thought simming 3 battles at a time would give me better drops and in reality doesn't make a difference, I would want someone to tell me so I could stop wasting so much of my time.

This thread is like superstition versus logic. Only, no one knows the exact mechanics for this game, so technically it's all just speculation at this point. There IS a posibility that there are actual designs which favor players who sim specific amounts, but that would take one really bored and determined developer.

It doesn't make a difference in what you get.
That said, I always sim for character shards 3 at a time. That's because the drop rate is supposedly around 33%. While I have not recorded the data, this seems to hold true. Sometimes I will not get a shard, but typically will receive multiple shards to make up for it later.
For gear, I sim 5 at a time. I've not heard anything about drop rates for gear, but at least higher level gear seems to drop around 20% of the time. So sim 5, receive 1. Again, no data has been recorded, but it seems to average out over time.

I sim 1 at a time unless I'm crunched for time and need to burn through energy NOW.

I know it makes 0 difference, but it kitten me off less striking out repeatedly vs not hitting a single shard in a big 20 batch.

Sim 6 -10 battles at a time

Normal battles I sim 3 at a time. Cantina battles I sim 8-12 at a time, depending on energy cost.

Not really sure why...you're going to get what you're going to get (which is often nothing you want..lol).

Sim 4 or 5 battles at a time

Unless I need lots of that gear, I do 4 sims so I don't waste my energy. For example:
I need only 2 gear pieces, I sim 4 times, because if I sim it, for example 10 times, I will finish with 2 or 3 pieces of gear I don't need at that moment
