Am i the only one confused by the wicket event?

I spent a lot of time and resources farming ewoks to 7* in anticipation of the wicket event. I was under the assumption that his event would be running through the end of the month and we would eventually get enough shards to 7* wicket. I played through the event, received 15 shards, and waited for the next tier to open. It never did.
Did i miss some announcement for this? Or somehow miss the rest of the event? Is it coming back? I also have low level logray and paplo with no way to advance.
Could someone bestow some knowledge on me?

Ive looked through the events and cannot find a listing for the next ewok event.

Yes. The at-st. Was it a repeatable event? It seems odd to take the entire month to promote an ewok event that you cant complete and shows no sign of returning in the near future.

They said it would return at the time he would normally become farmable under the release cadence, so 2-3 months.

No, that's from the marquee event

So why did we waste resources farming ewoks for an event that doesn't even produce usable characters for several months? Im just trying to understand the thought process behind having a team ready to get a character that isnt even usable.

Ewok marquee events:

Tier 1: 25 shards (2 star unlock)
Tier 2: 5 shards
Tier 3: 10 shards
Tier 4: 25 shards (3 stars + 15 extra shards)
Bonus tier: 2 blue mods

The AT-ST only had 1 tier that gave you 1 random gold health mod. (In this event you didn't used your ewoks).
This event will come back, now using your toons ang giving you Wicket shards

Thanks for the reply. I just farmed what they said would be necessary. I didnt pay much attention because ewoks arent terribly important to me. I should have continued farming old ben, and then i could have used the next few months for ewoks.

This is the strange part for me. We had an ewok month with an ewok daily login character, for an event montha away.
Then we have a CLS event month, with farmboy luke as the login, for an event this month, where the event will be over BEFORE YOU COLLECT ALL THE DAILY LOGIN SHARDS. thst just doesnt make sense to me.

The initial release of the Heroic Battle will supply a forced squad of Chirpa (L), Wicket, Logray, Paploo, and Elder at G11 L85. The rewards will be rare mods. The event will return in a few months (when Wicket would normally "go to the board") and will be reconfigured to require 4-star Ewoks (player owned). Victory in Tier 1 of the event will yield Wicket shards. Owning a 7-star Wicket at that time will unlock a bonus tier that allows you to bring any unit at 7-stars, and it will be extremely challenging. It will also likely yield extremely rare, or possibly, specific unique mods. (Bonus Tier rewards are still being decided.)

Heroic Battles are a new thing, one I've wanted to do for a long time. I hope you guys like it!

Yeaj, they mentioned some of th information there. I guess this portion is what caused confusion.

This challenging event starts: July 29th

(NOTE:On the first run this weekend, this event will be locked to a forced-squad of L85 G11 Ewoks.TLDR- You will be given a Souped up Squad!)

It seems to suggest that the first run this weekend is a manufactured squad, and the remainder of the event would use your squad immediately following. No mention of months down the road.
