Do I have a shot at Daring Droid T7?

So I started a couple of weeks ago to upgrade my Empire toons for the R2 event but I could probably have a problem, so I would like an opinion from more expert players.
I have:
Darth Vader
TFP
RG
Magmatrooper
Grand Moff Tarkin
It is possible that before the event start I'll be lvl. 83, so probably, my toons will be likewise.
At the moment I can bring them easily to gear 8 but I don't think I can do the same for gear 9 (maybe just a couple of them), so...
Do I have a shot at getting a 7* R2-D2?
