Help with Empire for the Upcoming Dark Side TB

I should have Thrawn to 7* at the end of his upcoming event, and here's the rest of my current Empire team:
SWGOH Empire Roster.
I'm a total loss as to who I should be working on, what skills I should be leveling up, how I should mod my teams, how I can split these guys up into two squads, etc. I've never paid much attention to Empire, so any advice, tips, or help would be greatly appreciated.

Imperial Troopers first since they are a needed sub-faction and will likely be able to clear a node for you anytime they don't have their own special mission. Start with Veers and Snowtrooper. Then grab Vader since he is another Hoth Hero for the Empire. After that just grab other good Empire toons. TFP, Palpatine, Tarkin, Krennic, etc.
