With the release of the new Dark Side TB and TW, I have seen almost nothing but posts complaining about bugs or missing rewards or the delay of events calendar.

I honestly think it’s kind of sad the amount of negativity towards the developers, especially considering some of these people are full grown adults.

Edit: Accidentally posted before I was finished.

But anyways, the purpose of my post is not to bag on the players bc I know that there is reason for their frustration. I personally just think that y’all could use a bit more patience lol.

I just want to take a few minutes to thank the developers for this great game that has entertained me to no end. To those that think programming is easy, I’d seriously like to see you try. I know these guys are paid to do it and are supposed to be professionals, but I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect everything to be perfect the first time around. If mistakes are made, they do take action to correct them and the players are usually compensated for their troubles.

Now on the other hand, I know that if bugs and such are not pointed out that nothing will change, but there are less negative ways to go about bringing attention to them. And also, I think that once it is brought to their attention that people could just wait until the next time an event rolls around before spamming the developers. Then if it remains the same, people would be more justified in negative comments about it.

Sorry I totally just went off on a tangent from what I intended to say but honestly I just think that the devs are doing a great job with the game even with the bugs and errors which will eventually be fixed anyways (hopefully). Everything they release is meant to please the players which some never seem to have enough and others have way too much to handle.

Obviously the people that have spent a fortune on this game will have a different view than I do, but at the end of the day this is just a game. It is meant to be enjoyed. If you find yourself getting kittened more often than you are enjoying the game, i think it’s time for a step back to look at why you are even still playing the game. I myself have taken several breaks from the game either because it got hard to keep up with everything or just simply because I got bored and logging in to complete all the activities became more of a chore.

I know I’ll probably get a lot of hate for this but this is my opinion and I will stand by it.

Most days when I’m not brooding, I would agree with you. But not getting the rewards you rightfully earned and getting the run-around response of “just wait 24 hours and then submit a ticket” is basically a response I’d expect from an intern who is going through their first day on the job - most of the negativity especially in the last 24 hours is justified.

Where there's negativity, the "don't be negative" soap box thread won't be far behind.

I don't think is developers fault, is just poor QA testing, maybe becaus from higher places they wanted to push the content asap, maybe to keep the income cash flowing.

That is always a bad move. To release a bugged / untested version always lead to disaster and to a lower revenue.

Now let's see how this mess is fixed, but (and I agree with the OP) don't blame developers, you need to aim higher.

I think the problem comes in because we have been down this same road many times before. Lessons aren’t learned and the cycle repeats itself:

severely bugged content is rushrd out (often right before a long weekend), feedback is given, they have to scramble to fix it (usually creating some new bugs in the process), we go through a few iterations of re-fixing bugs until most of the major ones are addressed.
In the meantime while these bugs are being fixed, other issues in the game are ignored or previous fixes stop working (squad management was introduced and now only half works, heist events stop appearing on schedule, etc).

Rinse and repeat every few months. And after it happens the first half-dozen times, the “goodwill” of players starts eroding because we all foresee this with each new update - so the devs can’t reasonably claim to be surprised by it anymore.

There's always been negativity on this forum but I don't know if complaints about missing rewards should be dumped into that category. The DS TB was full of bugs and because of that was a huge irritation to lots of people in lots of guilds. Then on top of all that irritation, people didn't get anything for it.

If someone comes on once and posts that about a bug or lack of rewards, it's valid it's only when they post multiple times even after it has been acknowledges that I think it is called complaining.

I think the buggyness of DSTB (no list here), the rewards for said TB missing for at least 7 guild members, a locked out guild member from the last update (yes, tried the hotfix), the duck-and-cover-responses from the devs and past experiences with EA support justify a lot of negativity. It's a natural human reaction.

First with these forums - it’s the yelp effect- more inclined to write something when something is wrong or not how one planned. That being said it’s also the internet and I’m sure kozi the mods and devs have a thick skin for it and know how to pick the posts apart.

As Kello said above it is the same Road we have been down. I think every major release of content has been bugged, delayed, or both. Which from what I understand happens all the time and bugs just creep out, out of nowhere.
The game has changed so much and this our response to change. In terms of communication things have gotten better. Some of the stores revamp have been for the better (pov pending)

But there are still little things that happen out of nowhere and for no rhyme or reason other than for money.

I think we really need a state of the galaxy by top hat to really go over everything that is going on. Even the part of ea’s bf2. Because I feel that is also a factor of why we are so on edge of late.

The reason for the negativity is because while billed as a f2p game, plenty have dropped hundreds while plenty more have dropped thousands. Only to have it look like the devs only view us as atms and are milking us out till we dry up. But the drought is coming peeps.
There's many players that would still be willing to pay. I still am tho I don't why. But when buggy and untested content gets dropped, they drive us away.
Its absolutely mind boggling that these past 6 days could happen in a game that's the #3 grossing game on play store. It's like ea is literally trying to go to the bottom. All we want is smooth polished modes dropping as we make them $200k daily. And a new raid but....

At the end of the day, this is the only metric that matters.
Play time, number of daily logins, player happiness, etc. are all really meaningless as the only reason they are measured is because they all feed into revenue.

Why would they fix what isn’t broken (from their point of view)?

I’m pretty sure the devs we come in contact with are on the creative side and probably love the game as much as we do. From everything I have heard and read this game is so much kinder to ftp than other mobile games. Also like a casino the people who read these forums understand that there will be a certain rage that comes with games like this. Just think of it like your job. Think of all the different people and meetings you encounter with it. There are a lot of moving parts to this. It would be so much easier to think Kozi and her mods are pressing a red button that say “no rewards” but that’s not how it is at all. We are in a much better position because we can actually voice our disapproval somewhat publicly. Devs, mods, and managers cannot.

I, for fact, know, developing software can work without bugs like this here. All it requires is skilled developers and an authority who does not force them to push incomplete/untested code out to production systems ... That's all, that easy.
    Left by design.
The fixed payout times are the worst part of this game and makes it absolutely family-unfriendly.

In before the complainers complain that this is a thread "complaining" about complaining, thus rationalizing to themselves that they can complain about not getting enough free stuff as well as bugs.

Sorry guys i added more to my post, I meant to say most of it from the beginning. But I see both points of view, I do not take this game as competitively as others do (anymore). I have spent thousands before and used to take top 1 spot everyday for months. But that was when playing then became a chore so I decided to take a break and since coming back I have not spent a penny and now enjoy the game much more than i ever have. So yeah I understand 100% why people get frustrated but at the end of the day it is just a game. Why let some pixels dictate your emotions ya know

Not sure why you think this is an unpopular opinion, I love this game, I enjoy playing most of it and I log on multiple times a day. I have a great guild and we work really well together and keeps you going.

That said at the moment I'm not happy about DS TB, not getting my earned rewards for that shambles and also the general lack of communication from CG about updates and things. I never liked that everything is last minute but when everything is running smoothly it's ok.

There is a lot of negatively worded comments at the moment but this player base is hurting and people are leaving the game. The Devs do a great job and that should be remembered but at the moment they need to take hold of the situation and fix it.

I think people have little patience with untested content being released because they spend so much money on the game and feel they deserve some quality and have a right to demand better. And I think people make negative presumptions about EA’s motives because of EA’s long established reputation for exploitative money-making practices.

Unpopular does not mean that I’m the only one with this opinion just that the comments are very much skewed in favor of the negative posts. But even then we still differ in that wether or not I get the rewards does not bother me, i haven’t even logged in since the end of the TB other than just to collect energy and would not have even noticed had it not been for these forums. But like I said I used to take this game very seriously and every little bug would tick me off pun intended. But now i just log in and do my daily activities and go about my day. I love the galactic power feature because I love seeing it slowly climb as the days go by lol

OP, I too love the game. I guessing that’s why there’s such vitriol on the forums when things don’t go right: we love what we have and have fun doing it and when it breaks, we get emotional.

However (and I’m sure you’ve been playing as long as a lot of us have) over the course of 2 years, they take one step forward and three steps back. Every time. For every awesome thing about this game there are three bad things. It doesn’t stop me personally from playing, but there is a breaking point that can be reached. I’ve learned to take the good with the bad, that nothing is perfect and hope that things get fixed in a timely manner.

I just need my TB tokens so I can gear up my g12 characters lol!

Yes. The people that have spent millions have a different opinion and the game was made to make money for EA but is your right live in Wonderland

Well - while their programmers are getting answers or whatever, it'd be nice to get the Calendar for December - yeah, they leave stuff out, so it's like 75% useful when it lands, but I'd take something over nothing.

I love the game as well, and I wouldn't still be here if I didn't and wouldn't be willing to occasionally spend if I didn't.

But DSTB was a wreck. It was pushed live knowing it was messed up. I can't say why that happened exactly, but its a pretty big mess and they need to step up and just say "This wasn't at the level of quality it should've been and we're sorry about that - here's some crystals, guild event tokens, and wampa and starck shards".

And it's true, I continue to see top level players that have grown weary of the fact that many positive changes (new guild shop, the coming TW) are counter-balanced by aggravating errors or what appear to be steps to exploit paying players instead of enticing them (premium toons blocking 80% of the platoons, messy TB)

I don't know about others, but I'm not addressing any particular people when I say "devs." I'm targeting the overall management of the game. And the decision-makers won't have things fixed without a lot of people raising issues, I think.

I get you, I started this game about 11 months ago and as it's changed and grown I've gotten more involved. I just feel let down about how rushed DS TB felt, that's not really like CG, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be held to a certain standard. I also believe hard work should be rewarded and I'm sitting here with nothing from TB for my efforts. If I'd have had those rewards I wouldn't be on these forums pushing for answers.

But then I'm really looking forward to the new Rey stuff and that will probably have a polarising effect on elements of this community. It depends on your outlook.

100% there are issues that need to be highlighted but it will take time for CG to work out how they can get the rewards to us. They said 24 hours so I'm waiting for that. It was a mess but I know they will fix it and adjust it over the next few months so that it's smoother.

OP, I respect your perspective but.....

I play this game for 2 years.....ofc the game is good or we will not have a big community arround it....so, the REAL PROBLEM in here is the repetition of mistakes over and over again by the EA/CG guys that make decisions about new content.

I was pleasantly surprised by the launch of LS TB....not 100%....cause the statistics could be better at the begining, the constant crashes/freezes without a good an fair solution to that, etc.....but generically speaking, was a good launch, tested and with some fun involved.

Now.....launching a DS TB with 2 or 3 days warning....with a patch rushly placed that only change the TB name with 2 days to go....without ANY test whatsoever....c´mon, not even the TP earned in combat was right....buged all the way....and without rewards working properly.....this is too much Incompetence to keep silent and not criticize attitudes like this (even more when they have previously contended with mods, gear raises, guild hoping, etc).
