My journey was better, since I bought several shards in the shard store.... however very very long time...
Now you can have fun with him.
In my experience he's also great in raids: Annihilate makes 3% damage to Rancor and 1% in HAAT P4 (we recently won our first HAAT, so I've not yet a larger experience there.... I used him for the final hit!).

Yes! I did this a while back (it was only 3 attempts a day back then) and also invested every (feeble) crystal I won too. Horrible slog, but a great character to gain. Congrats dude
