Updates...quick question

I just moved and will have internet this coming Friday. I've noticed that nearly every single time I log on the game has to update, a significant sized update that requires WiFi lest I demolish my data. Is this really necessary?!? Not to mention that I see no difference in the game.

I dont see that much data being downloaded ever time i log in. maybe post it at <<Answers HQ>> and see if there is an issue.

after a big update or if i clear my game data i will see those updates as i enter a different section of the game but thats it.
