Rancor P1 - Clearing Deathmark

Right now I'm running Rebels in P1 and JTR-lead Resistance in P2 of HPit. I can almost solo P1 before enrage, came about 4% short last time. I use R2's smokescreen to clear deathmark, but would love to move him to the Res team in place of Finn. Current lineup for P1:

Wedge/Biggs/R2/Leia/FBLuke.

FBLuke just needs to go, so I'd have two spots open. I'll have CLS tomorrow. I'm at 53/100 on Raid Han, so at some point those two could be added. Problem will still be the deathmark though.

a) With CLS on-board, do I even need to care about deathmark?
b) If so, is there another option to clear it?

I've used Ackbar in the past but his cleanse usually is still on cooldown the second time around and whichever toon has deathmark gets smoked.

In answer to A, no. Once you have CLS it is very unlikely that deathmark will matter. But once you have him you might also be completely changing your teams so you can solo all rounds with 1 team.

Rex instead of Ackbar? I can't solo with him but he was effective in lower tier phase 1. At least in getting to enraged.

So how does it work? CLS removes TM and Mr. Pig never gets to go? Or is there more strategy involved?

I basically put CLS(L)/Raid Han/Wiggs. Only those 4 people. kill the 2 side piggs and hit full auto and the raid is done 10 minutes later or less. No need to worry about deathmarks or enraging or anything like that. Obviously having raid hans zeta is a big necessity for this but other than that just get your 4 peoples speeds up good enough and there is no worries.

A little more explanation here.. CLS and han both remove TM with their basics and CLS removes 100%tm with his special. Then biggs will do his assist call which will call either han or cls along with wedge so either of those 2 is fine cause they both remove TM. CLS puts speed down defense down tenacity down on the rancor so hes the only person you need to put the necessary debuffs on.

You could probably do it just fine with just CLS and Han solo but adding wiggs just makes the damage skyrocket and the time it takes to finish goes down severely. With this team the enemies rarely if ever go.

Ha, I forgot about zHan's TM reduction since I can't use him yet. I do have his zeta, just need to get those last handful of shards so he's eligible.

Yeah, CLS drops the lead Pig’s (and the Rancor’s) Tenacity (and speed eventually) and with enough TM reduction they never attack again. If your CLS is 250+ speed with decent potency he can solo the entire raid by himself.

Otherwise you need a team that helps the TM reduction. Early before my CLS was strong enough and before I had zHan, I ran Teebo (l), CLS, QGJ, FOO (with a rotating 5th).

Even without Han, Teebo, Jyn, Rex QGJ or Thrawn ready at 7*, you have more options. With your roster, CLS, BB8 and FOO should do just fine. BB8 is just there to boost damage. FOO removes TM quite often and grants TM to another team member (CLS). I'm sure, you can solo it on auto.

So thanks for the input everyone, but as it turns out, I was able to complete my first solo of the whole thing with JTR/Rey/R2/BB8/CLS. I did have to use R2's smokescreen twice to clear deathmark, and the rancor got a few turns in here and there, but with CLS' and JTRs tm removal and all the tm gain from JTRs lead, it was smooth sailing.
