Cantina Shards

This could be me being daft and missing something, but I'm gunning hard for Kylo Ren in Squad Cantina battles. I've not noticed with anybody else, but it only seems able to give out 5 Shards a day, is this intentional, has anyone else found it or is the game just being a **** in the afternoon?

I haven't made it far enough to grind kylo yet, but I just got 1 shard for a character out of 13 tries. Seriously guys? 1 shard from my entire cantina energy bar? I'm not expecting to unlock a character after a few energy bars, but that's a embarrassing drop rate. Good grief
