Not even the first...

With the current fixes to GW and my current state in the game, I have nearly nothing to even attempt or remotely WIN a node of GW. Every reset I get thrown high geared, maxed mods, seven stars on the first node! And all I have are characters in their 50s/early 60s with only one at my current level and even their mods are nothing compared to my enemies. What "balancing" am I getting into when the first node is a suicide march? So long GW store tokens...

What teams are you facing and post a link to your swgoh.gg profile.
  • Anyone under 85 got totally screwed by that GW change, and everyone who was already 85 doesn't believe its true. It is true.
  • I'm just facing mixed and thrown together teams with high tier purple gear, all about the same level as each other, all the small dots on the mods, you name it. I'll scour for my swgoh.gg profile in a later reply.

It seems the last change they made to GW made it very difficult for new-ish players, but very easy for old players.
I'm not saying you should like it, but atleast you can take solice in knowing it will get redonkulously easy eventually.

You are spreading yourself way too thin. Stop leveling every single character to 10 or 20 and g3, and instead pick something to focus on. Phoenix is a common recommendation because they are an effective and highly synergized team early on, and they can really help you get through GW due to their protection related abilities. If you get them all to g7 or g8 it will make your life much easier. And stop working on Chewie.
  • How dare you say such a thing! You should focus on nothing but chewie.
  • Silenzio, it is supposed to be a great challenge. It is a cakewalk for level 85 high powered players, and I am F2P! I walk through it every day. Until you get to lv 85 and have multiple zetas, consider gearing up and just working with synergy teams. Farm Resistance, all the ones you can get, put a zeta on Finn and R2 (num crunch), maybe Clones is your bag, or Droids, or Empire, or Night Sister, or Rebels, or Sith, or Jedi, or whatever faction you want. Gear up, gear up, play, gear up, it is rewarding for all levels but it is supposed to be hard for you. Figure it out, the game gives you the toons to make several effective squads.
  • Everyone will have an opinion, and make it seem like it's all you have to do to succeed. Please realize, some of the advice you are getting is from people who have been playing a long time.

Putting a Zeta on R2 isn't something that you will accomplish by the end of the month. R2 requires a pretty serious Empire team, leveled and geared etc.... Farming Phoenix is a good start. I missed out on the early days of Phoenix, and am having to play catch up. They will serve you well on a few fronts.

Most of the teams have a character that requires a team that you need to unlock, gear, and level. You can build from there.

But, I'd say the best advice is to decide, and don't stray from what you are trying to accomplish. Don't try to chase every requirement for every event. There are many you won't be able to compete in, and that's OK. My ewoks are the most neglected, and know they are on the list, just not yet.
  • Aight, thanks for the advice all!

Galactic war is based on your five strongest characters are bad characters who dont work together well. Chewie is one of them and you have Jim at a higher level than the rest of your team and higher gear. He is dragging up your average.

My first advice would be to make a good team of scoundrels.

    https://swgoh.gg/u/silenzeio/collection/?f=scoundrel

Every week or two there is a credit heist event. You need scoundrels to complete it. I guess you are probably doing tier i in it at the moment. Aim for tier iv which doesn't unlock til level 80. Get some credits and level some characters.

Focus on phoenix team farm everyone to seven star and focus on their gear to gear viii.

I note that you haven't done any raids yet. Get into a guild and do some raids, they really help with credits and gear.

spreading yourself too thin =/= spreading yourself out
