I want to make a team with Thrawn as the Lead, while also having a Imperial Trooper Team setup, Mostly for DSTB, the Trooper squad i pla on doing is Veers, shore, storm, snow and starck. I have every empire character, what would be best for this squad?

Replies

  • Probably would want to steal shore.
I hate these new timesinks called Tb/tw. Annoying features.

Well are you trying to make two seperate teams for TB or TW or something or do you want the best Empire you can get under Thrawn?

Before IPD and Stark most Thrawn teams brought Shore, Storm then +2, usually Death and Krennic, but either/both could be dropped for Tarkin, TFP, Veer(Thrawn is usually the only non trooper if he's here, but maybe Krennic), DN and even Palp if need be.

I'm pretty sure Stark and IPD can be plugged in for one of those non-tank spots, (like Veers, Stark should be there if it's a trooper heavy Thrawn team)

The consistent thing across most Thrawn teams is Shore tanking with either Storm or Tarkin helping him. If Shore and Storm are taken, I'd put Tarkin in and another tank like Sun Fac to replace, but it'd probably be a downgrade from Shore.
  • For Arena, where you only need one team:

    Thrawn/Shore/Storm/Death/Krennic

For TW where you need two teams:

    As above on defense,
    Veers/Snow/Starck +2 on offense as anti-nightsister specialists.

For TB where you need to run multiple squads:

If no missions are troopers only:

Krennic (L), Veers DT Snow Starck

Thrawn Shore Storm + 2 (Tarkin, Palp, Probe Droid, Vader, TFP are all solid choices)

If there’s a Trooper only mission:

Veers/Snow/Starck/Storm or Shore (Your Choice) / Deathtrooper (if no Zeta) or Magma

Thrawn or Krennic Lead (use both though) / Shore or Storm (the other one) / Deathtrooper (if zeta) +1 or 2 to fill.

Replace ShT in your troopers team by Magma. You don't need 2 tanks and you have one more for another squad. This is what I usually run. So I can put ShT with another Empire leader. zVader or Palp are also interesting for TB if you have him. Otherwise with Thrawn, I usually put ShT, TFP, Palpatine, Tarkin.
  • Is the Zeta on Thrawn's Lead mandatory for a good TW team ?
Same for Krennic's Lead in TB ?

Thrawn's zeta on lead is not mandatory for TW imo since all the guilds we've met put their best toons on defense. Thrawn's zeta is nice for arena when you face high debuff teams.

Are the Imperial Super Commando or Gar Saxxon worth Using? I mostly ask because i do want to have 2 unique Empire squads, while using Thrawn.

their ship is good but as characters they are not good
  • I second the ship comment. The only thrawn fleet I have trouble with is one with a maxed gauntlet in it.
  • For TB (no trooper only mission phases) I use two empire teams.
    Krennic(L)/death/shore/veers/snow
Snow will be replaced by starck once he is geared enough, ditto for storm and shore

EP/tarkin/thrawn/royal guard/TFP. I don't have zeta thrawn lead, and I've found the TM/health/potency combined with rebel debuffs from EP lead more reliable than thrawn lead. When storm is geared, shore will be swapped in for RG.

I haven't had any dropped waves so far in DSTB with them, even with a grand total of 0 zetas on either. The constant ability block from krennic lead is massively helpful. Obviously platoons can force substitutions, but they are both pretty flexible with subs.
