Hello! I am a guildmaster in game and an Analyst in real life. I wish I had greater analytical abilities to assist in the management of my guild.

Towards that end I have created several reports via MS Excel; however, updating the information in the spreadsheet is a tedious manual process that generally takes me an hour or two per update. As a father, husband, son, brother, teacher, and analyst it is difficult for me to find the time to do this more than once a month.

Also, the information I collect is merely a snapshot of gp per individual broken out by their character, fleet, and total gp at that specific moment in time. The data collected then is compared to the previous update.

While these reports provide valuable insights which assist in the coaching and strategies of our guild collecting the information, as aforementioned, is a time consuming manual process.

I would love to team up with someone from the dev team to link in-game data to a free to use desktop version of a BI tool. Bringing the data into this tool will enable continuous real time collection of in game statistics and vastly greater analytical capabilities. The information can then be saved to the cloud where any user could sign up for a free account, access, and analyze.

Permissions to access only the data relevant to that guild would be an issue which we'd have to address but I'm sure a solution could be achieved at nominal cost/effort.

I reached out to kozispoon individually about the same topic months ago and never received a reply so I'll try my luck in a more general forum

I'd appreciate feedback from other guildmasters and/or their officers as well as devs or other pertinent personnel that work on the game. Does this idea appeal to you? How best might we bring this vision to life?

You may also want to reach out to the makers of SWGOH.gg they access to the best data set that I think the devs will put out there.

What I do myself is use the information from swgoh.gg, they provide an excellent api via https://swgoh.gg/api/.
For example https://swgoh.gg/api/guilds/522/units/ has a list of all the units of my guild.
I created a small Java program the convert that in the dataset I need.
With the help of powerbi desktop (free) I create some datasets.

I haven't come around to fully implement everything but I have enough for now for the basis stuff.
Luckily some other officers also have their own solution for platooning and stuff like that.

One issue our guild has run into with this is that swgoh.gg has been limiting data requests so it will take longer to get the information. After that the info interest and very useful.

But if you can find a way it may be better to get the info from the source

Thank you both so much for the info. I have not worked with API's yet but am looking into learning how to make use of the swgoh.gg/api Drice mentioned. If you have any URLs to helpful documentation please let me know.

@MasterCbaoth I use a couple of spreadsheets, one that was created by someone else, but it does what yours does accessing the swgoh.gg API. I have a few of my own that I’ve created that are tied into the one spreadsheet. We mainly use it for TBs both light and dark, but it could probably be used like you’re wanting to.
