Rules for Answers in Q&A

1. Panic farming is how they they make their bread and butter.
Therefore they will not give more than a week's notice when a new character or event will be coming in. Giving any more of a heads up allows those players that buy character or faction packs sufficient time to farm the relevant characters for free, which significantly cuts into sales. This means free players are at a significant disadvantage but a necessary evil to keep the game free while maximizing in-game purchases.
2. Until a feature has been adequately tested and is within a couple weeks of rollout, they will only say it's in progress.
By setting a deadline, they establish a unofficial contract with players to stick to it. But their are a myriad of issues that can pop up before or during testing that can cause delays or even result in it being scrapped altogether. This can be bugs that cause unforseen conflicts with other aspects of gameplay, a feature to easily exploited by unsavory players (ie. Tournaments), or a overall in the company itself that pulls away the team working on it. In the end if the deadline isn't adhered to there can be a mass uprising by the player base up to and including a mass Exodus from the game. So it's considered best in the long run not to set anything in stone until the last possible moment.

So in the long run 90% of Q&A winds up being saying enough to think you got answers but no concrete answers so that you wind up learning hardly anything more than you did before.

Correct. But, at least it's better than sitting through a 25 minute YoutTube video to not get answers. So there's that.
In game name: Lucas Gregory FORMER PLAYER - - - -"Whale blah grump poooop." - Ouchie

    In game guild: TNR Uprising
I beat the REAL T7 Yoda (not the nerfed one) and did so before mods were there to help

  • yeah and I would add another rule to be professional. CG knows how we feel about sensitive topics (mod management, bugs, sith raid) but being hostile will not get us anywhere and will discourage them from holding the q&a sessions as often. I would say a rule should be

Do not ask rhetorical questions or provide negative feedback within your questions.

it was mind boggling to see just how rude people were being to the devs who are actually now communicating with us
