Is there a way to change your name in the game?

Yes it's very easy as long as your account isn't set up as an underage account.

Click on your name from the main screen and when it brings up the screen with your arena squad and stats there should be a pencil next to your name click on that pencil to change your name.

If there is no pencil you may have an underage account which makes it harder the easiest way as far as I know is to get in touch with Ea support. There's other stuff you can try but I'm not familiar with them

what about on forums?

I don't think you can on forums but you could always just create a new forum account easily enough.
