After they end they usually don't return I wish the marquee events returned so new players could get the characters

What about if there was a marquee event for every character?

They are new character only, and they are designed as a one way street towards release, they are not intended to be for "farming".

They are also intended to be a "reward" for players active in game, so new/returning players need to farm them from scratch.

Not that they couldn't do what your suggesting but those events were never intended to be the way you suggest

Kyno is essentially correct. Also, we have well over a hundred units at this point. Marquee events for old characters is wildly impractical.
