Yoda gives +9999% tenacity

I just read it in TROF (the real official forum, AKA reddit).

The Dev who is developing the characters has stated how Tenacity Up works:

The Tenacity Up effect granted by Yoda's Battle Meditation gives you +9,999% Tenacity; essentially, you are immune to any negative status effects that can be resisted at all.

Just info I believe everybody should know, not just those in Reddit.

Don't think that is true, you can still get DoTs, and healing immunity.

There's a bug of some sort with Sid. His AoE is the only thing I've seen work through it, and then it's only one dot at most per character.
I'll bet it's the extra dot he gets on a crit.
Quit 7/14/16. Best of luck to all of you.

    Other people said that too.
Either it is a bug, as Qeltar says, or it's part of the "essentially" in the Dev's post, meaning he has like 99% resistance but sometimes it can pass through the Battle Meditation defense.

Anyways, it is info that matters. The appeal of Yoda is very different if he is advertised as "he gives you a bonus to tenacity, just like Luke but wasting a turn" or if you advertise him as "he makes the team inmune to all debuffs".
Yoda laughs of Dooku. Hard. That's big, and it is not something that will be apparent if he gave you, say, 50% more tenacity (Because of Dooku's Potence)

I use Yoda in Arena all the time. I have never seen any negative effect stick, ever, except Sid's AoE, and then at most one per hit. It has to be the crit but I will check it in GW.

All I know is from the videos I've seen it may as well be 99% Queltar is probably right about the crit from Sid. Good for Yoda though. Can't wait to have him next week

Probably a bug then. Report it once you have some data about it
  • The few fights I've had with yoda's tenacity buff and a negative effect never landed. Dooku's hindering press was double resisted each time it hit against buffed Jedi (which is very unlikely if it was simply tenacity up). I pretty much just ignored the definition and thought in my head that it was debuff immunity.

Bug confirmed. I will post about it shortly.

  • Yep, I checked it and it seems to be Sid's crit proc that slips through somehow.

I'm pretty sure that is for the Yoda that appears on the Yoda event.

I've used BM in GW and then had four of my five Jedi stunned by Daka and Dooku and plenty of DoT from Sid and Vader land

    Thanks Qeltar.
My Yoda is lvl 32 and he is grateful to you that he didn't end working as a guinea pig.

Could you get us a screenshot of a stun Jedi with Battle meditation up? Or a jedi with more than 1 DoT?

I can try, I know I've seen it cause I almost threw my iPad. Had Y with QGJ lead, did BM first move and then Dooku stunned QGJ and another Jedi, then Sid attacked, called Daka assist (Phas leader) and stunned another (secondary target). Quickly retreated and went with a different team.

Edit: guess I should say I'm 99% sure I've seen it, but it was also when I decided that he wasn't what I was looking for on my A team for GW

Wasn't it stated by the devs that even with the absolute max tenacity you could have, there is some baseline chance (15% pops into my mind) of getting hit; i.e. the highest tenacity you could have in this case would effectively be 85% (assuming my made-up 15% number)? Or does the 9999% trump this?

Edit: Or was that potency they were referring to?

It's minimum 15% tenacity, we don't know if there is a maximum

I'm guessing 9999%....which is pretty good.

    Yep, you're right. Found it:
    https://www.reddit.com/r/SWGalaxyOfHeroes/comments/42003y/detailed_analysis_of_poes_bravado/

Tenacity has an absolute minimum value of 15%, regardless of how much Potency the attacker has. Whether Poe (or, really, anybody else) has 40% Potency or 4,000,000%, the target can't have less than a 15% chance to Resist unless the effect is irresistible. This is definitely a messaging failure on our part, because while every unit shows a base Tenacity of 15%, I don't think it's explained anywhere that that value is irreducible.

Side note: as a developer, it's little things like this 9999% number thing that actually really scares me. I won't go into a diatribe here but bad things are bound to happen when another developer who is not aware of this seemingly arbitrary value of 9999% tenacity indicating immunity decides, for instance, to use an opposing arbitrary value for "endless potency". And so on.

But generally speaking these guys do a great job, so I'll get off my soapbox. :)
