Will Pilot Luke ever happen..
Im sure im not the only one to bring this up.
It seems odd that we have new hope Luke(first act) and we have cloud city Luke and we have fleets and fleet battles now. But there is still no pilot Luke. Luke's destruction of the Death Star was an iconic moment in the franchise, I would argue even more iconic than Luke getting knocked out by tuskens.
My thought is a Pilot Luke with a ship, having epic ground abilities would be overkill. Death star destroyer Luke wasn't exactly a master of ground combat. Adding a new Luke with a ship wouldn't break the squad arena, but it would make fleets much more interesting.
Adding a new Luke with ship, perhaps in the same way Talzin was introduced would be enjoyable for many. This would make people invest in a character that they couldn't use for a meta squad. If a player must use gear on a ground unit that isn't endgame viable, compared to using the gear on Jedi Rey, it would differentiate the players that really want to use a pilot Luke, compared to giving commander Luke a ship that everyone would have a maxed out pilot for immediately.
The only time Luke jumped into the pilot seat for actual combat was A New Hope(act3), in an xwing obviously. Cls is clearly after that in the timeline, it seems obvious that Pilot Luke is immensly more iconic than half the ships in game at the moment, how many years must we wait?

Pilot Luke will never happen. Neither will Jedi Luke.
Old Ben said Anakin was the best pilot. He doesn't have a ship either.
