Thread gone about zeta drops?

I read and responded in a thread about zetas. The guy was asking if they had been removed because he hadn't gotten one in weeks. I was suprised because in 4 to 6 months I have had access to the highest tier challenge I have never recieved a zeta. Every zeta I have earned I had to buy using fleet credits. I loogged on today to see if any info and can't find the thread.

So I would like to know are they supposed to drop occasionally or was he misimformed or what because if they supposed ro occasionally drop on a challenge then I might just quit because my rng must just be that bad. Im only about to achieve my second zeta in the next few weeks.

This comes up quite often. If you don't get them you're just unlucky. Obviously, noone accepts that because conspiracy theories are more sexy, but it doesn't make it any less true.

Worth noting someone on that thread was saying they weren't getting zetas but hadn't yet unlocked the final tier so was a non starter. I assumed it was a poor effort to troll but nevertheless...

Well I had the final tier unlocked for months and have never recieved a zeta from it. I do good to get gold and that can be verified by any CG employee who cares. Even with bad rng the probability of having never gotten one since I opened the last tier months ago must be astronomically high and beyond belief. I was actually surprised when I read the thread because I didnt think you could get them anywhere but fleet store and the end of the month login.

Tbh the more I think about it the more frustrating it is. I just recently finally got my first zeta on a character and a month or so later im about to get my second one. I couldnt figure out how all these people had multiple zetas in my arena some as many as 6 on 1 team now I know. Maybe this is just a sign that I should just give this game up because i must have the worst luck. Oddly all my other games that operate on a rng principle I do fine in. Yet this one between shards, gear, and now zetas is just a bit much.

Actually, I think I know where you are going wrong. You do realise it's Tarkin's fleet challenge that awards zetas, not Mace's ability mat challenge right?

Yeah your only able to sim the challenges if you have all tiers 3 starred. It was the first one I beat because I was being held back by so few ability mats that I had to buy several packs when offered in the store. Now I just feel like a fool for it. If it is just rng as they claim then mine really is the worst 2 shards out of 15 hard runs. I didnt have the heart to buy the 5 extra like I usually do. Out of 3 5x gear farm I managed to get 1 of the gear I was farming for through 3 attempts. Ships dont even want to talk about that I had had 1 ship shard drop in 2 weeks.

My alliance and me had started mapping the hard node, gear, and ship shard drops to see if the so called 30% threshold had been lowered because all across my alliance (not just alliance Reddit and here on the forums as well) everybody in guilds is asking everybody the same question about their shard drops on hard nodes and everybody is becoming angry and unhappy. We are sort of the beginner guild with roughly 50mil gp in our alliance

Which ship challenge are you trying to do for zeta mats?

It seems it was mentioned, that you couldn't be doing the challenge that he was speaking about.

Because you aren't doing tier three or four of the challenge. No way you can do those tiers with only three 5* ships.
