Darth Sidious with weak defense?

I took some advice from the forum here and focused my energy on Sid. He 4*, gear 6 with Ability levels 3, 4, 3 and 2. When I put him in leader mode (paired with other Jedis), and he gets a couple of hits, he turns yellow. I had a Resistance pilot sniper take him out with a quick shot and quick turn. Had a Dooku turn him yellow quickly too. I'm wondering if I should put more defense in Leader position versus evasion or critical chance. This was in the Squad Arena. My opponent was 1 or 2 levels below me too.

Any suggestions? Dathcha suffers a similar problem.

    Sid has low health, but he gains hp when someone dies which should be every turn. Combined with a healer or 2 and you should be fine. Target the highest dps first and unless they have bariss that hero should die very quickly. Sid is a very powerful hero when used correctly but needs the right team around him (crit heros and at least 1 healer).
  • Thanks TIME, I checked my leader slots again. I had Mace in lead but he only helps Jedi's. Sid is a Sith. So I'm going to try putting a geared up Old Ben for max evasion for all allies. I don't have Ima Gun but he has temporary defense for allies.

    I think that was the mistake I made, I left Sid helpless.

    Imo the way to use sid is to have some high dps chars that take advantage of his crit leader ship. This way you will do tons of damage and kill heros quickly gaining life and extra turn meter for the already fast sidious. Luminara is one hero that naturally works well him as well as a lot of driods and luke.
  • your doing fine, keep leveling sid ! work on some high DMG toons and you be very happy have sid. some toons seem weak when they aren't grouped with other toons that work well together.
