Mods that can't be inspected

I've noticed something strange on my arena shard. Several top 10 players have exactly one golden mod on each of their arena characters that I cannot inspect. The game makes the usual sound effect when I tap the mod, but the stat window doesn't open.

They're all in my level range (60-70) and their other mods are nothing out of the ordinary. But somehow, they seem to have insane speed levels. I just fought a Bastila team that should have been an even match for mine, but their Ezra just kept attacking like crazy. For every move I made, the opponent's Ezra attacked me 6 or 7 times. My own Ezra already has a speed of 175 and the rest of my team is in the 150-160 range, which makes me suspect that something is afoul. Has anyone ever come across something like this?

Replies

  • Not being able to inspect some mods seems to be a bug introduced with slicing and 6E mods. If something is afoul then this is likely a red herring.
  • Oh, ok. Thanks. So maybe these mods have legitimately high speed stats and I can't view them due to this bug.

What's the speed of the enemy characters? That's what matters — not stats on individual mods.
  • I reported this as a bug when Mods 2.0 were released. They confirmed it on Answers HQ so it's "in the system".

    Only affects Tier 5-A/Gold mods.

When level, stars, and gear level of their Ezra is about the same as that of my Ezra, the difference should be in the mods.
  • I check individual mods too, sometimes. If only to see how ridiculous of a secondary they managed to roll.

The glitch also occurs with Guild mates. If you go to their inventory and click on a gold mod it won't pop up with info. Really tricky if they're asking for mod advice.

If they're asking for mod advice, make them sign up at gg.

  • Why check each mod individually?..... Just click on the character and look up their stats no?

Sometimes I like to see what primary someone is using in their setup.

Also it's fun to see how high their speed secondaries are.

  • This has been an issue for quite awhile. Not sure why it’s just now being noticed. Pretty much ever since t6 mods were introduced.

Be nice if it was fixed though.

    @BubbaFett
Because sometimes you need to see it to believe it on my arena shard: https://swgoh.gg/p/248254919/characters/jedi-knight-revan

@Vertigo that's insane. I farmed the heck out of mods as soon as I could because I knew the difference they would make. Even after spending thousands and thousands of energy on mods pre 2.0, and after slicing with 2.0 the best I have is a single +21 secondary. This is over the last 9-10 or so months back when I reached level 50.

Yeah those aren't mine, I'm rather jealous of that CD/CC set with 152 speed, but I can't really complain I've had quite a time with slicing myself and have a speed set on my thrawn that gives +160 speed. My shard is from December 2015 though and we've all been farming mods fairly hard since they were released. With the release of 2.0 and slicing those of us that had a lot of blue/purple mods that were already very good got a huge boost to them. Those who already had gold mods that were very good didn't get quite as much of a boost, it leveled the playing field a little bit for the mid/top end, but also increased the ceiling and the gap between the top and the bottom.

Hahaha you guys ain't seen nothing yet. This is on my shard.

    20 is the worst speed!

EDIT: This one is actually 2 speed slower by raw secondary numbers, but the speed set pushes it ahead. So they're actually kinda comparable, one went for as much speed as possible and the other traded some speed for damage.

Rather have the CC /CD one but wouldn't complain about having either
