Still Confused with Mods

I currently just reached level 78 and I'm still very confused with modding and I think it will really help me make my characters better. I've already been directed to the crouching rancor website but I am honestly still very confused on how to do it and which mods go best with each character or even which mods are best and where to farm them. Any input is appreciated

Actually it's not out of date, they updated it for the changes (6 dot, slicing, etc).

I was doing that ever since i unlocked mods but now I want to get into what character will benefit the most from specific mods
