Platoon Requirenents Getting More and More Ridiculous

With every update the requirements for platoons gets worse, to the point that it’s actually impossible to complete them. In addition Dark Side seems worse than its counterpart in that they require most of your Empire roster.

In terms of in game frustrations, this is up there with mk5 stun gun farming! :#

  • Forces you to develop a wide roster if you want more/easier stars and combat missions. In particular requiring Empire. Once you have FO, BH, NS, Empire, IT, and possibly a Sith team, you won't mind sacrificing random Empire here and there. Platoons are really more end-game Guild goals, not so much smaller Guilds.

    Our Guild is quite happy if we can pull off 2/6 on platoons from phase 3 and onward.

    Be happy that all those empire characters have been farmable for ages. Most players have a solid empire roster and hence the platoons ate easy to fill.

    Today I set both middle and bottom to 1, 2, 5 & 6 to avoid the DT/Shore walls that are 3 & 4. Yesterday was brutal w/ the number of Ordo needed, but today... not too bad.
    Fleet... yesterday none, today 1 & 5 were doable.

    Still complete RNG based.

    Not saying platoons aren't terrible, just that they aren't any worse than they ever were.

    The main problem is that in Phase 6 there's 4 missions. 2 Dark Side missions (BH/FO/NS/Sith) and 2 Empire only missions. One of those is a combat mission, the other is the special mission. That means you need at least 10 Solid Empire toons remaining after the platoons and when the platoons are asking for 80 empire toons that tends to be a problem. It's the same idea as when TB was first introduced and there were Phoenix/R1 toons required in platoons in the same phase where there was a Phoenix/R1 mission. Theres technically enough Phoenix to donate one and still run the mission and there 9 R1 toons I believe so you could still also technically donate a few and run the mission, it just makes it extremely hard because most people farm up the same ones and don't want to have to donate their better toons all the time so they made it so that you didn't need to have those toons in platoons for that phase. There's only 18 Empire toons and a couple of them are next to useless (looking at you Gar Saxon) in most situations. Needing 10 of those means you still need more than half of your Empire roster for CM/SM purposes, which basically puts you in the same boat as the R1 missions where you need 5/9 R1 toons to run a CM with a full team. Having tons of the same Empire characters required in the platoons when you also have to run 2 missions with them is basically just as bad as having R1 toons in platoons and telling people to run a CM with the remaining ones. They changed that, why not change this one as well?
