Grand Failure: Proof that someone who didn't deploy defenses can beat someone who did

I deployed 1 fleet and 3 squads into 4 squares. My opponent defeated 2 of my squads in the lower 2 squares. However, he has nothing for me to attack.

So how can I beat him in points, if he's already ahead in points and there's nothing for me to attack?

This is likely a visual bug. when you log in like this the zones should clear and you should get all the points for those clears. Please force close the app and go back in.
