Nope, just events.

They do it to increase difficulty. NPCs have basic abilities they have to use "mods" to change difficulty. From what they have said.

It's not "hard" or "difficult," it's just luck, like many of the events anymore. For Chewie, it's just "did I survive the initial barrage and did I do it without letting Chewie get stealth?" From there, hope nothing stupid happens.
