Grand arena - Quest progress not happening

I wanted to find out what people think of changing the grand arena quest progression to something less in need of doing the fights.

For the last 4 grand arena fights my enemy has not placed a defence. I simply can't progress on my GA quests so I'm missing out on the g12+ gear & Zetas. The gear rewards for GA so far have not been great, so the loss of the G12+ is significantly worse than the couple of gained zetas for winning uncontested. (moreso when the total Zetas up for grabs in quests is higher).

Perhaps have a side condition where you can either do,

Inflict 20 unique buffs
Daze 20 enemies
etc

OR

Win 15 grand area rounds.

At least that way I can progress even with no show defenders.
