If you doubt the severity of the Barriss nerf try this out.

Go to today's agility gear challenge and kill the droids. Let Savage Opress use the ability to take all life away and not kill. Then heal with Barriss and watch what happens or more appropriately what doesn't happen. The nerf is very severe. Instead of actually healing it feels like she just hit an opponent with her lightsaber.

  • Hmm, she really does seem to do more dmg than good now.

  • Barris is an equalizer. She cannot restore a team to full health, but she is a counter to one at a time attacks. She can gelp 2 chars that are severly damanged and almost dead, and has a pool of 7% of the entire team. Suppose 1 char was picked and almost dead, she can bring him to about 80% then add 7%. For two chars it's 1-(2/5) or 60% plis about 7%. If you also have the 4% per turn buff passive, just add 4% to entire team on each turn. Barris also has anhuge health pool, and against AI she is basically a shield to the team. Whenever she is hit by 2 specials in a row, she remains alive, and saves you team. And when she hits the right way, she heals entire team as well. It's like hacing a Hospital right there in the fight. If she teams with Allies mostly, then each player now has additional 15% health pools. But Barris does little damage, and has slow cooldown. So if you need a lasting resistance, you need a second healer that can restore all chars when the entire team is bruised, including her. She packs so much health, she can the distribute hers to all team. But Barris can even save debuffed allies. Sid, and now the new characters, like Kylo, can apply Health Immunity. And in two rounds, your unit WILL BE DEAD. And the only antidote is Barris, or waste a debuf, which a character that still can't heal until your healer turn. So tou waste a turn in debuff, and then a healer's turn and special? By now, another char has Heal Immunity, you did less damage, your char may had already died, and you start to miss Barris.

Barris as the only healer is bad. With another healer that hits hard....she still shines - but your other chars must bebheavy hitters. Barris Physical attack is a joke, except her chance to heal all team. Often enough that mini recharge, sabed a character that is indispensable.

By Gripes with Barris is thatbshe is hard to farm. Not that she was nerfed.
  • So I think the "nerf" was a good thing. After my above post I realized she was so good before I hadn't needed to level her heal skill at all. Up to level 5 now and she is again integral with my luminara.

The fact that she can heal around immunity is as much of a benefit as any detriment she has on a full squad heal. I like that her heal is unique. As many pros as cons sounds like balance to me. And yeah I use bariss and luminara together all the time too.
  • Barriss is my favorite character in wars as long as she's on the other team. Kill everything else around her and heal everyone else up. She stings like a butterfly.
  • Lumi and barriss together is quite effective.

I just don't see what people see in her anymore. Her actual heal is atrocious. I find it amusing she's even considered a healer. Depending on the status of your team she can actually do more harm than good. The only thing worse than her actual heal is her damage.

Her "heal" (we'll call it that) is very situational. Once it's used she's simply a drain on your team. The cd is too long and most likely won't be ready in time again to be useful. Her damage is so bad that even if her attack is dodged it really doesn't matter. The proc rate on her heal on attack is so low its insignificant. Her leader ability only shines on a majority Jedi team, which are all but extinct. Her unique ability to dispel negative effects only work on Jedi with a low proc rate, so again useless.

In reality the only place where I find her to be a benefit is GW. The Consular is so much more useful for many reasons. Yea he doesn't have the ability to equalize so you won't have that situational clutch "heal" that acts as a band aid against Sid; but most people focus Sid in the first round (or two depending on RNG), so meh....
  • Keep in mind that Barriss is a Padawan to Luminara ... and shouldn't have been created as some all-powerful healer in this game anyway.

Not that this is relevant to the game (many of the characters behave differently than in the stories) but Barriss was specifically known as a Force healer. It was her speciality. So it actually does make sense.
Or at least, did, until she was nerfed to oblivion.
Quit 7/14/16. Best of luck to all of you.

I think that was the point, since he was attacking.

  • She's still useful in GW or else all the sidious you face will wear you down quickly.

She is still the best healer when facing heal immunity chars(not just sid). She is still the best healer vs focus fire. She no longer fits into every team comp like she did before.

This. Oh woe is me, I have to actually THINK about which healer to use in which situation, instead of always using the same one in EVERY situation. Boo hoo.
