Switching Phones

I'm going to be changing iPhones this weekend (iOS to iOS). Also to note I've been playing for over 2 and a half years so I'd obviously like to keep my progress. lol. (Still using the same iPhone currently since day one playing SWGoH lol.) I pretty much know the basic steps about doing so, but I was curious about what the exact steps are just on the off chance that I forgot something. (i.e. Sign into iCloud and Game Center, etc.) Maybe there's a link somewhere with such details? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Switching iPhones is so easy - backup old iPhone to iCloud, restore from backup on the new iPhone, everything will just work.
This assumes you are using Game Center, but it sounds like you are.

The backup is always a good idea, but you don’t even have to do that if you’re using GameCenter. Just sign in to it and redownload GOH on your new phone and you’ll have all your stuff.

Yeah I know how to transfer stuff from phone to phone. lol. Just restore backup. And yeah I have Game Center. I was just asking about this... how to have my SWGoH progress visible on a new phone...

I mean, on Android it's just linked to your Gmail account, I use my account on my phone and tablet interchangeably, I assume it's as straight forward and seemless on ios

What if you’re not using gamecenter and it’s linked to your phone only? I have linked to Facebook but unsure how to use that to access my account

I don't know. I actually don't have Facebook so... yeah.

But I do think it's the same... maybe. Like instead of signing into Game Center for your SWGoH acct, you sign into Facebook and it's automatically "linked" somehow. iirc. @RoBane1738

Edit: after you open the app and you see the welcome new player or whatever screen there's an option to sign in I believe.

I just swapped to new iPhone last week just login to game center before swap then again on new phone go to purchases download swgoh

Update: Welp. I restored backup and logged into iCloud. All my stuff transferred to my new iPhone. And since I was already logged into my Game Center on my old phone, when i opened Swgoh on my new phone my acct automatically popped up. Pretty seamless if ya ask me. Thanks so much for the help to everyone who commented.

Edit: I knew how to backup iPhones and that’s about it. Only have had one iPhone so never restored a backup. That’s where I needed help and you were right on the money. Everything did just work.

My boy has a child account and recently got a new device. Unfortunately the "link device" option is gone for this account. Is there a way in which to transfer accounts? His Google Play account is linked but the game did not sync. Thoughts?

You should just be able to sign into the game with the same e-mail address. You may have to logout if it's signed in as generic. Provided he was signed in before and not on a guest account.
