GA matching is pretty awful.

  • This isn't proof of "unmodding". You're speculating. There is no comparison of your own roster, or evaluation of the break down on ship vs character galactic power for the opponent.

That's an impressive roster. Great effort there. That player deserves the advantage.
  • That's a pretty standard looking roster for a rank 1 arena, focused player that occasionally spends small amounts. They are clearly not a Kraken or anything given the lack of Darth Revan but 1.4 g12 characters per 100k GP is very achievable with focus and specific farming and gearing goals. Given they have Traya they are at a minimum in a good-ish guild that's giving them alot of resources too.

Now with respect to taking mods off characters not being used in GA I'm not sure what you want changed but remind me why people should have mods on characters they are not using. At any time not least in grand arena. Having unmodded characters is very useful to load new mods onto so they can be picked up by third party apps for mod management and optimization and if any of those lower end characters in a persons roster need to be used for something specific - it's cheaper (in credits) to move arena/high quality mods from other characters onto them if they are free of mods.

Now lets ask what "advantage" un-modded characters gives someone in matchmaking. 6 teir 5 gold mods on a character will give 720 galactic power. Let's say your opponent un-modded 30 characters specifically for grand arena match making. They gained an "advantage" of 21,600 GP which is about equivalent to 1 g12 character with a zeta. Or otherwise about equivalent to about 2 gear 8 level 85 characters. Not really that amazing an advantage is it!? Most importantly if someone wants to spend the credits to gain this tiny marginal difference then why shouldn't they, the option is there for everyone!

(NB: Unmodding pilots gives a larger benefit but it's about cancelled out by the fact that it's more likely grey and green mods rather than gold mods that are being moved in these cases)

I think there's arguments to be made that the matchmaking doesn't often lead to fun matches. Don't blame your opponents for this though, join the discussion on matchmaking improvements while looking forward to Grand Arena championships which at least in later rounds will hopefully give both you and your opponent closer and more engaging matches.
