And both are droids. The explanation they've previously given is that R2 (and droids in general) do not noticably change over time the way their meatbag counterparts do. Appearance, personalities, and motivations of mortal characters differ and CG claims to prefer to put them in from a specific point in their lives. That's why we have 5 Hans.

R2 and 3PO are singular throughline characters who do not age or change significantly.in any lasting way. Even 3PO's red arm is changed back.
Pretty much every other character in the game who gets significant character development does change. And the prevailing philosophy regarding characters not named "C-3PO" or "R2-D2" is the snapshot method. All characters in the game are as they exist in a single moment, not the entire span.
The Asajj we have in the game is while she's with the Separatists. Not while she's a bounty hunter. Bounty hunter Asajj would be a different snapshot.
Making characters every tag they've ever had severely mucks with tags as a game mechanic, especially as new information about characters is revealed. Solo would have put the Empire and Imperial Trooper tags on Han. Rebels would have put the Empire tag on Wedge. Ackbar would gain Resistance. And characters who span eras would have nonsensical tag combinations that cause factions to break down. Tarkin would be Galactic Republic. Vader would be a Jedi. Finn would be First Order. And it would all get terribly silly.

Deal physical damage on the target with a 100% chance to stun the target for 1 turn on hit. This attack can not be evaded or resisted, and the stun can not be dispelled.
If the target is immuned to stun, inflict fear on them for 1 turn.
If the target is immuned to both stun and fear, inflict fracture on them for 1 turn.
Fracture : speed at 0, can not gain turn or bonuses, etc. Raid bosses : -50% speed, doesnt stack with other speed debuffs.
(I am still asking myself whether this has to be a zeta or not considering there's no zeta on basic attacks yet)
Special : Strike Fear.
Dispel all buffs on enemies, all debuffs on separatist allies and nightsister allies recover 40% health.
For each buff dispelled, enemy loses 20% of their turn meter, which can not be resisted and affects enemies which are immuned to turn meter reduction as well.
For each buff dispelled, nightsister allies recover 20% of their max health and stack 10% speed for the rest of the encounter, separatist allies recover 20% protection and stack 20% attack for the rest of the encounter, scoundrel allies gain 20% turn meter and stack 5% critical chance for the rest of the encounter, and each scoundrel ally put 1 thermal detonator on each enemy for each buff dispelled and debuff dispelled, which can not be resisted or evaded, and affects enemies which are immuned to thermal detonators or debuffs, bounty hunter allies recover health and protection at an amount equal to their current % of turn meter filled and stack 50% cricical damage for the rest of the encounter, and Sith allies gain 20% max health and max protection for the rest of the encounter.
Then, all allies are called with 100% more attack.

Deal special damage on all enemies and inflict defense down and armor shred. Reset all cooldowns and gain Bounty Hunter's determination on a finishing blow.
Lead : Nightsister Swiftness.
Nightsister allies have +30 Speed, +30% Offense, gain 50% Turn Meter when they fall below 100% Health, and remove 20% Turn Meter when they damage an enemy. This Turn Meter removal can't be Resisted.
Lead : Commander of the Separatist army.
All separatist allies gain 30% attack and 30% potency. Whenever a separatist ally is debuffed, they have 60% chance to counter attack. Geonosians allies have 50% chance to call another separatist ally when they attack, and separatist droids gain 35% turn meter when they attack.
Lead : (name for her bh lead)
All scoundrel and bounty hunter allies gain 50 speed. Whenever they deal a critical hit, they hain 30% of turn meter, and everytime their protection goes under 100% they gain a bonus turn. When Assaj is on the leader slot the following contract is active :
Kill 10 enemies.
Reward : all bounty hunter allies stack 15% more attack, critical hit chance, 5% more speed, and gain 35% more turn meter everytime an ennemy is killed. They also gain bounty hunter determination when the contract is activated and everytime they kill an enemy. When an ally bounty hunter dies, all bounty hunter allies with bounty hunter resolve gain a bonus turn.
If Assaj is on the ally slot, another contract is active (but im too lazy to imagine it)

When any ally or enemy is defeated, Asajj gains 35% Turn Meter, and, gains 15% Offense, 15% Critical Chance, and 5% Max Health (stacking) until the end of the encounter. Asajj has +15 Speed for each enemy with no buffs.
Unique : Sith Apprentice.
Whenever Dooku counterattacks, Assaj assists him. She also assists him when he does a bonus attack.
Bounty : Assaj Ventress gain 100% more max speed, and everytimes she hits an enemy, she does inflicts them with stun for 5 turn, replaced with fear if enemy is immuned to stun, and she inflicts them armor shred.
When you do this rework, put her in bronzium cards with a 99% chance to have her everytime you open a bronzium, put her shards in galactic war store, cantina store, guild store (she is here everytime), and fleet store (here everytime, not affected by random shuffling) to be sure everyone is going to have her 7* as quick as possible
Good luck on your suggestion. You appear to have ignored the feedback from several people that said CG prefers characters as a snapshot. And since the NS were wiped out before she became a BH there is no snapshot of her that had both tags. I'll stay away from the discussion on making her Sith.
Seems like you put a lot of effort into something extremely unlikely to be considered by CG. That's too bad.
This is one of the most overpowered player made reworks I’ve ever seen. Just the “Sith Apprentice” unique alone is obscene. If immediately put my Revan mods on this, which would EASILY jump her speed to well over 500 permanently without even considering the +15 from Rampage in there. Completely ridiculous. I hope you weren’t serious.
Yeah, BH makes no sense. She was never a separatist and a BH if I’m remembering correctly. The Sith tag I still don’t understand though. I may be missing something, but I don’t ever recall a time when Ventress was a separatist but not a secret apprentice under Dooku.
