Building up 3 or 4* toons in your roster to use on B/C teams for clean up

I am farming my 4* Brood Alpha to 5 or 6, finishing 6* Genosian Spy in shops, and all else for Jedi Rev. I gotz no room for any other farms. However, I do have room to make certain teams better with toons I want 7* down the line. Can a G10ish 200 speed 3* Talzin be worth leading a NS team for offense clean up on GA zones you've already lost a battle, for instance?

I was actually quite surprised that AV leading my Daka Zombie Ghoul and Talia was able to survive and finish the upper team in GA that is shown in the below pic.

What about a 3* Nest? G8-10, any value?

I am building up this Trooper team. Basically I need teams that can kill when I have depleted the big punchers in my roster.
