Are ties no longer decided by higher GP? Is it pure RNG now?

I just lost a tie in GA even though I have 2,498 GP versus my opponent's 2,065. Not that GP makes for a fair tiebreaker, but it sucks to look forward to better rewards and not getting them. Could someone please clarify how ties are supposed to be solved now? Did I miss an announcement?

I believe it is based on highest GP of your top 60-80 characters, depending on your bracket.

So the same criteria that is used for matchmaking now. Thanks, that would explain it. He did have the better top roster.

It would still be great if we could get a clarification from the devs. It can be an important strategic factor that helps us decide between a sure win with a full squad or a riskier battle with an undersized team.
