He's very easy to gear, there's no reason to rush anything at the moment.
You seem very excited for something big and new just around the corner, the best thing to do is of coirse farm big shaak and wait.

It's never smart to invest in something before it is known. If you are speculating on Mace Windu, great. Look at his gear req's and start building up everything you need to get him to g13. If it turns out he's needed, great! you can take him from gx to g13 instantly. If it turns out someone else is needed, you now have the gear stash to use on them.
