Please stop defaulting to Tarkin.

Every time I enter a fleet battle in GeoTB that's not a required capital ship, it defaults to Tarkin being the capital. My Tarkin is way worse than my Chimera so why is it ALWAYS selected for the ship battles. It's such a waste and it's really easy to miss because I have to deselect him rather than CHOOSE Tarkin OR Chimera.

If he's not required, leave it blank and we'll choose the ship. That can't be that hard to do.

I believe so, yes. Mine never selects Tarkin and i never do both CMs in the fleet territory.

Yeah I suppose it would if the previous territory I do the Tarkin one last cause I never really ever win in it. I always do the Chimera one first to make sure I win then the Tarkin one last cause it's whatever. I just wish it didn't select anything and you choose it instead like they do in TW.

I never use Tarkin for anything and it just happened to me. Lost my the best fleet because of it and ended up contributing nothing to my guild.
I usually use either Ackbar or Thrawn for my fleet arena and pretty much everything.
Did not even notice that game selected Tarkin until it was his turn.

So you didn't do the Executrix capital ship event today? Could be a hangover from that.

Edit: also, in the previous phase did you only do one of the two ship combat missions?

I only do one ship mission because most of my ships are LS.
And you might be right as I did Tarkin event.

I think it defaults to the capital ship with the highest GP. Just like the other slots are auto-filled with your highest GP ships.

At least that's what Contraband Cargo does. Ever since I zetaed Thrawn, it defaults to Chimaera even though I always play the event with Home One (which has a slightly lower GP now).
