I have super low expectations for ep9. It’s a similar situation to when ROTS came out, the movies leading up to it were so far below my expectations I was disappointed. Going into Rots I figured it would be pretty mediocre as well. So hopefully like ROTS, this will a decent movie and I’ll be pleasantly surprised.
You are a man of few words. Out of curiosity. Why would you like the sequels better than the prequels? I kinda see them as having reversed flaws of each other. Prequels has good overarhing plots but we’re poor movies from an action, pace, cinematography, acting, and dialogue perspective. Sequels had poor overarching plots but relatively good in the areas the prequels were poor. If it makes sense ... prequels were good stories, bad movies. Sequels were bad stories, good movies. (But from a Star Wars perspective, I ended up liking them less overall because of this.)
I like the prequels because they deflated the idea in the original trilogy that the things were better in the past and if we could just get rid of this Emperor we could go back to that. It showed that the Republic was flawed and that nostalgia wasn't as good as we thought it was.
I love the new trilogy because they show what would logically happen if they just replaced the Emperor with a new (new) Republic. they fought an entire rebellion and didn't learn a lesson, got complacent, and then those flaws resurface and here comes the First Order to perpetuate the cycle that has been present in *literally* every Star Wars game and movie and show. What I loved about Last Jedi, specifically, is that it's about two people who are finally looking forward instead of trying to bring back something from the past. The conflict is that Kylo Ren thinks you can't start building until you've destroyed everything from the past, while Rey thinks you can build something new on the bones of the old. Two mutually exclusive goals.

this...is a perfect summation I think. prequels had insanely bad lighting, racist voices but good plot/ideas/stories, sequels had lol plots (anh redux, Laura dern's ship decisions, etc) but looked way better and better action etc. Also, the beggining of the sequel movies were great, then all of a sudden someone hits the HUHN?? button.

Excellent pun.
