Why this discrepancy happens on GA sometimes?

Honest question here, I dont are acusing ou trolling.
Just try understand why this happens.

Due to odd numbers. Their group had less than eight players so they got a bye. And when somebody gets a bye they get credit for the points right away.

So he get the points like he was win a match because he are "Alone" in your bracket.
