Transfering Guild Leadership

Ok, so apologies for the daft question
our guild leader is going to stop playing the game
If he just leaves the guild does leadership transfer to a random officer?
He can't find an option to do it himself (I assume there is one, help would be appreciated!)

I think he can give leader role to someone and then leave

I know i did that a long time ago when i created my own guild and left but dont remember the exact buttons where i clicked

When the guild leader leaves, after pressing the leave button, as a part of the process he has to choose an officer to promote to leader.
