Example: Baywatch is one of the most watched/liked shows around the world.
I don’t really know what to say. I’m pretty sure if lots of people like something, then it is a good thing when it comes to stuff like this. Your example, Baywatch, I never watched it because I didn’t want to, but from what I’ve seen the reviews of it are that it’s not really a great movie, it’s just funny. That’s the only reason people liked it, because it made them laugh, but one thing that I saw most commonly is that a lot of people said the plot wasn’t interesting, they only liked it because of the humour. Not saying that that’s bad or anything, but if that’s all that makes this movie any good is humour, then an action movie like the Fantastic Four is a good one because it had lots of action. See my point? RoTS is a good movie because not only is it liked, it’s got everything you’d want from a good movie. Good plot, interesting characters, action, the whole lot. It’s the movie that lots of people like to go back to watch because that’s what Star Wars means to them. People do that with ESB as well. They are good movies. Not only did critics see this, but the fans themselves. If the critics and fans can (mostly) agree that a movie is good, then it is good. If it is otherwise, then it’s not very good. It might be average, but not good. RoTS is liked a lot, yes. But that’s not what makes it a good movie on the first place, it’s what it actually shows us that makes it a good movie.
I think it's funny that so many people rate one of the worst SW movies as the best. It's not complicated.
Technically RotS is the 5th best Star Wars movie according to the ratings (I assume thats what the Mega rating or whatever on imdb is a combination of), so not one of the worst, just somewhere in the middle.
