Personally with the arrival of crewless ships I really wouldn't want anymore ships that have crew that need to be geared to possibly be useful.

Make it crew less. The only ships that should have pilots should be main characters like a jumpsuit luke in red 5

In the star wars universe if i ever worked my behind off to become a tie pilot and the Empire shows me the tie marauder i will be piloting then that would be the day i jumped ship to the rebels to have some sort of chance at surviving
