Any idea what causes lack of Event Buttons?

I never got a GAC notification / Event button for this run.
I only have 3 buttons, so my tray isn't full.

This happens for TW a lot too.

I say this not to be sardonic, but I get full screen notifications for pack advertisements...could we get a persistent button for events that have entered a signup phase so we don't miss our chance at content?

My tray on the side has 4 buttons as a max.

Do you close the game or just leave it running in the background?

I know I have seen it appear later when I dont close the app, but never made it the whole 24 hours without appearing.

The game tends to be running.

Even an In-Game Email notification would be great.

"GAC Tournament Sign-Up Available"
With the Go button, like a raid-signup, or TW action, or, etc.

If we know we're limited by slots on "Notification Buttons", then let's use some features in the game we have that don't have those limitations.
