try to use vader against a gl rey team

my vader has basic 270 speed + 5x8 (vader-bonus) = 310 speed
weapon tech from wat +15% tm = 356,5 speed
finn has 326 speed, with leader ability rey 356

hope my calculation is ok

with the new tm/speed/loaded/overflow... rules

who goes first (after wat)?

Remember that Vader's unique double-dips if an ally is both empire and Sith.

Pretty sure they dont round, but @scuba would be able to the best to ask.
  • In all other aspects of modding with partial integer values, they truncate rather than round. So I’m afraid 356.5 is the same as 356 or 356.9

There is only one instance I have seen them round and it was not in favor of the player. As was said they truncate

    vader went first (vader/thrawn/traya/nihilus=5x8speed extra)

    Rey goes after wat
I think you understanding of it is wrong
DV will NOT have a speed stat boost because of weapons tech, his speed stat will stay the same.

We players have used the term effective speed because it is not the units actual speed.
Effective speed is the speed the unit responds like because it doesn't have to do a full TM fill based on the units speed.

Effective speed is normally only good for 1st turn as there is so much other TM manipulation happening.

In this instance a 310 DV would have an effective speed of 364 by my calculations

    Effective speed = Unit speed x (1 / ( 1 - tm push))
    310 x (1/(1-0.15)) = 364.7
So on first turn vader will respond like he has a speed of 364.7

So if DV and Finn reach 100% TM at the same time Finn has higher actual speed stat and would go before DV under new TM rules.

Interesting, probably because TM fill will work with partial amounts so got a fraction more TM than Finn.
Gonna have to break out my old TM fill sheet to see now.

    I get 310/0.85 = 364 effective starting for Vader.

It looks like you did 310x1.15. That's not the way it works. Gaining tm is not the same as gaining speed. So for effective starting speed you divide actual by the amount of tm bar remaining. So 364 is faster than Finn.
  • yes, my calculation was wrong.

    364 is the speed!

Lol. My math was right, I was looking at your finn speed wrong. My faith is restored.
