Lets just hope they recognize the fact that the gear crunch has become too agonizing to not ease it a little sometimes soon. While I appreciate the effort to make character shards more easily accessable I a F2P didnt have a problem at all with the speed of preogress. Right now I got 20 7* toons waiting to be geared. All the shard farming nerf does is that very soon I will have 50 toons waiting.

Sometimes I ask me if am missing something. If you just on shard farming, there is no difference to the situation before. If you balance gear farming and shard farming, you can now get more gear because you need less for shard farming.
Well the shard changes are kinda making a difference.
Problem is While my new account is getting shards a lot easier now, both my new and my mature account are stuck on a g9 gear piece (nubian security scanner) as it only drops from raids and is rarely available for crystals.
Feels terrible knowing you have to wait for a raid to have a chance to move past g9. Honestly, bigger problems could have been tackled with far less effort. The effort is appreciated, but it hasn’t made it any difference to me on my new account. I have tons of 7* characters already that i just can’t do a darn thing with.
Edit: Didn’t realise but Rancor raid just paid out. No luck this time round. Time to wait.
So Rebel Round Up is not giving double character shards as it should and we isn't going to give double on ship shards. Fleet battles don't give double shards. Bronzium doesn't give double shards...
CG took a pile c... wrapped it in bow and called it a present.
This update is an insult to older players and just made getting GLs much slower.

Check in weekly shipments for full item not salvage. I have 4 Nubian security scanners currently there for purchase.
I've tried to find some information as to if there are any plans to make any changes to the journey guide character mega packs, the cost and rewards have not been changed since the update to shard farming, in essence the pack value has been devalued and is no longer worth the 2450 crystal price tag. I can't see any comments to confirm if these pricing models are being looked at or not?
Let me see if I understand this, now that I've played for a few days. The shard drops are pretty much doubled on >1+ year toons, except for the Bronzium "big drops" (10+). Okay, that's good. BUT the cost in the shop has doubled FOR THE SAME AMOUNT OF GEAR?!? How, exactly, does this help ANYONE?

It doesn't, but it basically the same as before
Remember: reality is an illusion. The universe is a hologram. Buy gold. Bye!
These threads (especially hot ones like this) evolve quickly. I can't read every post, although I wish I could.
You've been heard on the full character drop rates and I took that to the devs.
As far as "why doesn't Doja get on here to explain why he can't explain something??" sentiment, I feel like I've said many times that I'll give you as much info as possible when possible. I've also pointed out these reasons can range from legal, to in-development, to unknown, and everything in between.
I refuse to come out here and risk spreading false/unconfirmed info (or info that is subject to change). It isn't fair to any of us, it builds up expectations that could then never materialize, or perhaps CG has to change course because of an unforeseen issue and it becomes moot.
We understand, thank you doja for doing your best. Some people forget that the increase in communication we’ve seen in the last 2 months has been amazing and they will only ever see the bad. I understand that there are just some things that you can’t tell us, and that’s ok, we wouldn’t want to get you in trouble. I know your job isn’t an easy one but keep up the good work.

That piece can definitely be a bottle neck, but it also shows up in the guild store regularly.

Just an open question to all, after the change have anyone got any full character drops in Bronzium? They’ve dried up completely for me so I guess that solved the issue of not doubling the shards but in the “careful what you wish for” kind of way.

It's just luck. I've gotten several. I've been tracking so I can estimate my observed percentage drop. So far I've gotten 55 shards from full bronzium characters in the last 6 days to convert to SSC; in that time I actually opened another bronzium that was an 80-shard full drop, but it was for a tusken I didn't have 7* yet, so no SSC anyway. But a total of 135 shards from full characters.

If by "basically the same" you mean, 15% less gear than before, then I'd agree.
This is just plain bad.
What good is faster character farming if you can't gear them faster?
In the era of "G13 is now required for just about every new event", this was a big hit since so many G12 pieces are in the shard store.
They really need to do something soon.
its really not 15% less gear than before.
lets stay with 15%. that is mostly reasonable, but its not the direct daily number, its the average over time. That is still only the average shard shop currency from normal daily activities, that give shards. it is not 15% of your overall free gear income from daily activities.
to answer your question, "whats good about getting characters faster?" - you now spend half the time/energy getting toons, which leaves you the other half to be more focused on gear. this is not plain bad, this is good. yes it 100% could have been more neutral, which would have made it better, but this is in no way bad for the player base as a whole.

Also, eventually, you won't have to spend energy to farm characters, so you can farm gear. Running out of characters to farm will now happen much faster.

I have also gotten several. During the double drop days (4x), shards were a majority of what dropped for me from Bronziums. I was thinking that perhaps the drop rate was increased. Unlikely to be the case since you had the opposite experience.
I didn't do any math on this, but i know i did quite well until now in managing the resources i had to the needs i had to cover in shard shop, almost never run out of shard shop currency/backup to generate shard currency.
But i have to say, since this currency change did hit, it took me 2-3 days and since then i'm always on bottom rock. I'm always out of currency or not able to generate more for the shard shop, it really drained all of my hoarded currencies, without me changing my behavior, i did as before, and that doesn't seem to work anymore.
So from my point of view this has not been a great help (for me at least), as the biggest shard shop currency income where chars out of bronzium, which i feel do not drop as often as i got used to.
Now i have to be even more selective in the shard shop, which ends up in me getting less gear and slowing down the progress.
Swiss Garde Officer, drop me a message if you're interested joining
I have not been purchasing Bronzium packs due to the nerf (still hoping you make a change to shard shop economy, CG) and therefore my shard shop currency has been slightly lower as well.

How 15% less?
I think he means 15% less gear from shard shop. The math is earlier in the thread.
Lol how? I Maybe use Ally Poins once a Month, and atleast in 3 months had no Bronzium Chars
From the drops of a ton of ally points shown, you get about 15 shards a day from bronizums before changes (if you assume 10k of ally points a day). About 80% of those are full drops so you lose 6 shards. If you figure only other stores that are on farm were with no refreshes that is about 15% less shard shop currency worst case.
I have shown far more detail previously but am not going to redo th ef math again. If you care you can scroll back a few pages and read it. I posted it about 5 or 6 times already on this thread.

Exactly! Always have enough currency onhand to buy this. It might just be the forth bottleneck after gunsncuffsncarbsohmy!
