dropping vs swapping rank

Hello,

I would like to see other people's perspective on this: since my very first arena battle, I've always felt really weird about how two players swapping their ranks after the challenger wins arena match instead of dropping the beaten guy 1 rank down and everybody else ranked below him likewise.

I do not know how viable it is to implement the dropping system with so many active players, nor all the pros and cons of it, but it just makes sense for the losing player to drop 1 rank at a time instead of swapping ranks.
