The level of dissatisfaction is at an all time high and it doesn't look good for free or pay players as each change EA and CG seem to make these days only make things more of a grind.

I feel like we're being bombarded with all these changes simultaneously to keep us all off balance and in the end, making bad decisions.

I'd recommend you take a step back and move slowly and carefully. Don't let the artificially motivated feeling of getting behind effect you. This feeling is being created to get you spending to maintain. It's going to take most players from 40 to 50 something days to get to Level 80.
